GASTROSCAN M 30

Mannitol Solution
As Negative Contrast

ADVANTAGES:

✔ Excellent Image Quality due to long Duration of Action (4 to 6 hours).
✔ Effective Distension.
✔ Appealing Palatability.
✔ Eliminates the need to administer rectal contrast media.
✔ No Discomfort To Patient.
✔ Mannitol possessing extra osmotic properties provides extra beneficial effects in cases of Brain injury.

Axial CT scan oral administration of Gastroscan M 30 and IV contrast demonstrating excellent distention of small bowel loopswith muscosal enhancement & bowel wall thickening due to Crohn's disease.

Coronal MDCT Image with natural contrast against Gastroscan M 30 demonstrating excellent distension of small bowel loops.

Axial CT Image demon-strates focal enhancing lesion is duodenum representing a carcinoid with metastases to the liver.

Curved MRP demonstrating mucosal enhancement of a segment of small bowel due to Crohn's disease.

LIMITATIONS OF POSITIVE ENTERAL CONTRAST:

✔ Limits evaluation of mucosal and sub-mucosal enhancement pattern seen in inflammatory bowel disease as well as hyper-vascular bowel tumors like GIST/CARCINOID.
✔ Limits evaluation of gastrointestinal haemorrhage.
✔ Interferes in post processing of mesenteric vessels.
